paris, je me souviens

epiphany ding! well, not so much an epiphany, but a melancholy thought.

there are no real vancouver street style blogs. the one i used to check i found out today had shut down for good. but why? why does vancouver have no real fashion scene or voice. hell, seattle has tons, we should have them too! well, downtown seattle is american apparel's grown up sibling that they emulate but whateva

oh, right. why does no one repost on the clothing here? well, the answer is quite simple: vancouver dresses like shiatsu. gastown is the closest (doesnt that look like closet? it took me a few minutes and a trip to google to figure this one out...yeah i need school)thing we have to a fashion scene, and, while i shouldnt complain since its our only hope, its full of old-ish wanna-be hipters. i really dont like hipsters. i dont like williamsburg

so what do we have...we have aritzia clad youngings, lululemon clad housewives, and guys wear...whatever. i dont even know. people here wear sneakers too much. and not the cool jeremy scott x adidads* type either . they wear functional nikes and geox. terrible, terrible. i tihnk women should wear better shoes**. i think vancouver needs designers. we just havnt reached critical mass, and we are too far away from the center of the earth, new york, paris, europe in general.

we need people to stop wearing 'cute' clothes with graphics, and stop rejecting anything with an air of elegance and fashion. at this point i dont even care if we take cues from california and everyone turns into erin wasson. i really dont care. im not asking for a miracle, im just asking for people to care about the things they put on their backs.

hint: dont go to aritzia and but the more expensive things, it all sucks anyways. its not about buting fashion, its about being stylish.

b-t-dub; happy new year <-- not plural, why do people say it plural? this realyl doesnt make sense
